Great Video about the Chemicals in our Life

I am a big fan of essential oils. Yet people often ask me if there is essential oil research to back up the claims that they can support both emotional and physical wellbeing. There is actually quite an impressive amount of essential oil research out there, if you know where to look!

The epidemic of patient harm in hospitals must be taken more seriously if it is to be curtailed. Fully engaging patients and their advocates during hospital care, systematically seeking the patients' voice in identifying harms, transparent accountability for harm, and intentional correction of root causes of harm will be necessary to accomplish this goal.

The true number of premature deaths associated with preventable harm to patients was estimated at more than 400,000 per year. Serious harm seems to be 10- to 20-fold more common than lethal harm.

Mayo Clinic reports that as many as 88 percent of those patients go home with a new or refined diagnosis – changing their care plan and potentially their lives.  Conversely, only 12 percent receive confirmation that the original diagnosis was complete and correct.

"While that number is a small fraction — just 5 percent — of the number of ER visits involving pharmaceuticals, the issue is a cause for concern because the market for herbal and complementary nutritional products remains largely unregulated"  Seriously??  The regulated sector kills 440,000 a year but your focus is the 23,000 ER visits a year with no deaths.  So Regulation is the issue and NOT people dying.  This is crazy

"Incidence rates for deaths directly attributable to medical care gone awry haven't been recognized in any standardized method for collecting national statistics," says Martin Makary, professor of surgery at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and an authority on health reform. "The medical coding system was designed to maximize billing for physician services, not to collect national health statistics, as it is currently being used."

This review assessed the effects of mouthrinse containing essential oils on gingivitis and plaque. The authors concluded that mouthrinse containing essential oils used as an adjunct to unsupervised dental hygiene provided an additional benefit on both outcomes compared with a placebo or control.

The antimicrobial activity of plant oils and extracts has been recognized for many years. However, few investigations have compared large numbers of oils and extracts using methods that are directly comparable. In the present study, 52 plant oils and extracts were investigated. These results support the notion that plant essential oils and extracts may have a role as pharmaceuticals and preservatives.

CONCLUSION:

Frankincense oil appears to distinguish cancerous from normal bladder cells and suppress cancer cell viability. Microarray and bioinformatics analysis proposed multiple pathways that can be activated by frankincense oil to induce bladder cancer cell death. Frankincense oil might represent an alternative intravesical agent for bladder cancer treatment.
